Allah, Make Them Understand

In the name of God, compassionate & merciful بِسْمِ اللهِ الرَّحْمنِ الرَّحِيمِ | Peace be with you السلام عليكم

Asalaamu Alaikum.

Eid mubarak all. I didn't have the greatest Eid to be honest, but I enjoyed it nonetheless. I hope that you are all had a wonderful time.

Last Tuesday I ventured to wear a scarf wrapped around my hair. It came, not even close, to qualifying as a hijab. However, I live in a small ignorant, culture deprived town. Now rumors are flying around that I'm a radical and that I used to be a satanist. My old friends yell down the hall that I shouldn't be Muslim. I am afraid to walk past certain people, and I am losing those who claimed to care about me.

It really is a terrifying experience. Yet, I think it gives me strength to keep practicing Islam. I don't know why they have such an issue with it, but I get past it. It makes me nauseous and I cry sometimes, but I find a way through it. I know, inshallah, I will be rewarded for standing. All I can do is pray for strength, and pray that Allah softens their hearts
