Sunshine - Poem

In the name of God, compassionate & merciful بِسْمِ اللهِ الرَّحْمنِ الرَّحِيمِ Peace be with you السلام عليكم

Sunshine, I once feared a great deal,
My skin you would taint and peel,
The evil rays absorbed by innocence,
But I will not be influenced by malevolence.

The devout use their surroundings for good,
So I will also, like I knew I should,
I’ll be a sponge and gain all that is bright,
The shining imaan, like sunlight.

Light is not just physical,
It can be sensed like something touchable,
Can bring a smile on your sad face,
Into a state of purity out of disgrace.

Sunshine, light my being so I may follow,
The light to God so I can grow.
Into a flower of hope and piety,
The beautiful glow in a forsaken society.
