The Revert's Ramadan - Day 2

In the name of God, compassionate & merciful بِسْمِ اللهِ الرَّحْمنِ الرَّحِيمِ | Peace be with you السلام عليكم

Asalaamu Alaikum. I hope you have all had the strength to fast, Ishallah.

I, again :/, didn't wake for
Fajr. I'm going to set my phone so that it beeps when I get a text tonight. I fasted again until Dhuhr. I want to fast longer, and I know I could if I'd wake up for Fajr and get something to eat.

I went to church, sadly. I was late as usual but, luckily, made it in time to hear the
youth pastor talk about Islam! I was extremely irritated and interjected numerous times to correct her. The pastor always warns against learning about different religions, and it seems to me that maybe they're afraid of losing their congregation. However, if you're going to teach about a religion during church, should you not have some idea what you're talking about? Now the youth group is confused about Salat, the pilgrimage, and Allah's graciousness. I kept my mouth shut to do all but correct her, but I wanted to say so much more.

Then I met my boyfriend and we walked to my friend, Willa's house. I know that many of you do not agree with having a boyfriend, and I wouldn't but Luke and I began dating over a year before I reverted, and Inshallah, he will come to the light of Islam. Anyways, I felt very pure because I was well covered. I wore jeans, a pink dress, and a black and white cardigan. I felt even
better when I arrived at Willa's and she let me wear a scarf she had! We waited until after Dhurh then went out to eat. For the first time ever I went out in town wearing a hijab! At Subway Willa went to the restroom and Luke told me I looked cute in the hijab. Again, I know some of you may be shocked, but for the first time Luke was not just accepting the hijab he was supporting me in wearing it! I absolutely felt wonderful.

I ended the day studying the Sura of Maryam in the Muxlim chat room, which I will also blog about :D To say the least, my first two days of fasting have been wonderful.
Allah has blessed me without cease Alhamdulillah. May you go on in strength enduring and be blessed by Allah, most gracious, most merciful.
