These were the words that went through my thoughts when I finally opened that A3 sized brown envelope. It felt... like an envelope. All coarse and rough... pretty heavy too. But that envelope was special. Oh yeah, special.
As we all know in ‘ol Blighty, it was results day on Thursday 20th August in the UK and to put it short, it went brilliantly not just for me, but (from what I could see) for everyone in my year! We’ve all got places in universities and are continuing the journey into higher education in September insha’Allah.
I in particular achieved AABD... with A's in Media Studies and Performing Arts (Distinction grades being equal to A grades in the curriculum), a B in English and a D in Critical Thinking! This was so much higher than I expected and I have no one but Allah subhana wa ta’ala to thank for it!
For many of us, A-levels and similar examinations have been an important 2 years or so. Personally, I found it quite difficult to juggle around all the coursework and homework at the same time, but this year I put my head down and decided to really work hard at it. And of course, frequent Salah, regular dua and trying your best to adhere to Islam (which I admit doesn’t always go right) goes a long way too.
Overall, I’ve felt the change in me as these 2 important years have passed. I feel mature (to an extent!) and this place in university has given me some direction in my life in terms of a career too. I just pray that my faith and level of Taqwa increases as I grow.
Now I’ve gotta sort out all my accommodation stuff and buy all I need for my room whilst fasting on this blessed month. Oh, and major dua that I don’t get lost in London too. Heh.
I'd like to thank all my friends, tutors and family for being understanding, supportive and awesome company during my A-levels. You're all awesome, Allah bless you and guide you all! =D
