Du'as and ahadith for Ramadan

In the name of God, compassionate & merciful بِسْمِ اللهِ الرَّحْمنِ الرَّحِيمِ / Peace be with you السلام عليكم

Hope you're all doing good and benefitting from this month as much as possible and high in Imaan inshallah. Here's some ahadith from a little free Ramadan book- distributed by Fisabililah publications (pathofallah.com) and some Muslim websites. Hope this blog is of use inshallah.

I found a dua for each day of the month on this forum:
http://www.yanabi.com/forum/Topic338793-87-1.aspx#bm338798
Scroll down a little and there's a post with the duas in Arabic and English, alhamdulilah.

Ahadith regarding the month:

"O people! shadowing you is the greatest month, a blessed month, a month in which is a night greater than a thousand months. Allah has made compulsary fasting and has made staying awake at night rewarding'"

"Whoever draws nearer to Allah by performing any deed of good in it (Ramadan), he is as one who has performed a Fard in any time other than it. And whoever performs in it a Fard, he is one who has performed SEVENTY Fara'id in any time other than it."
-Wow subhanallah. I get it now, I understand why everyone goes holy!-

"Whoever feeds a fasting person (or provides the means of opening the fast) , it will be for him forgiveness for his sins, and the freedom of his neck (i.e. himself) from the Fire. And for him is the same reward (as the fasting person), without his (the fasting person's reward being lessened in the least."
-Alhamdulilah, charity has its rewards- huge rewards! :D

"And it is a month beginning of which is MERCY, the centre of which is FORGIVENESS, and the end which is FREEDOM FROM THE FIRE."
First ten days > we're in the days of Allahs mercy, alhamdulilah. I'll stop butting in now, promise.

Increase in Ramadan 4 deeds...
>>recitation of shahada 'La'ilaha ilalah'
>>seeking forgiveness from Allah
>>asking Allah for Heaven
>> seeking protection from Hell

"If Allah's servant knew what Ramadan was they would wish that it were perpetually Ramadan."

"My Ummah has been given five things in regards to Ramadan which has not been given to any other Ummah before them.
1) One is that the odour of the mouth of a fasting person is more fragrant, according to Allah, than musk
Stinky Ramadan breath has its benefits! Okay sshhush beel.
2) The angels continiously seek forgiveness on their behalf until they end their fast
3) Allah, the Mighty and Magnificent, everyday adorns His heaven and then says to it,
'the time is near when My pious servants shall be freed from difficulties and meager provisions, and they will come to You (heaven).' :)

4) The shayatin (devils) will be shackled and restrained from performing the mischief that they can perform outside Ramadan
5) They (the fasting) will be forgiven on the last night of Ramadan"

Someone asked, 'O Prophet of Allah! Is this the night of Power?'
Muhammad peace be upon him replied, 'No (night of power is in ADDITION to all this) But it is that a worker should get his reward upon the work's completion.'

All say alhamdulilah and do sujood out of thankfulness to Allah for Ramadan. Alhamdulilah :D

More ahadith.....(from fisabililah book- pathofallah.com)

'By that Being in Whose hands is my (Muhammad's peace be upon him) life! The odour of the mouth of a fasting person is sweeter to Allah than the fragrance of musk. (Allah says) 'He leaves his food, his drink and his desires for my sake. (His) fasting is for me and I shall reward him, a reward ten times its like.'
Al-bukhari

'Verily, Allah and His angels sent salawat (Barakah- benedictions) upon those who eat suhoor' Ahmed

'The fasting person experiences two occasions of joy, at the time of iftar and at the time of meeting their Rabb- Lord'
Al-bukhari, Muslim

'The supplications made by a fasting person, until the time of completing his fast, are accepted'
At-Tiridhi, Ibn Hibban

'People will remain prosperous as long as they hasten with iftar' (i.e. ending the fast promptly at sunset)
Al-Bukhari, Muslim

Du'as for breaking the fast- Iftar:

'Allahuma laka sumtu wa ala rizqika aftartu.'
'O Allah for You I fasted, and I end my fast on Your provision.'
Abu Dawud

'Dhahabaz-zama'u wab tallatil urooqu wa thabatal ajru insh'allah.'
'Thirst has been quenched, the veins have been satisfied and reward has been ordained, God willing.'
Abu Dawud
