The topic of Maqasid al-Shariah or the 'higher objectives of Islamic Law', tends to drive people towards one of two extremes: those who break the letter of the law to allegedly maintain its spirit, and those who diligently observe its law without care or understanding of its spirit. Come and learn about Maqasid al-Shariah and its role in Islamic Law, together with its consideration and application in today's society.
Topics to be covered include: Definitions and Proofs for Maqasid; Importance of Maqasid; History and Development of Maqasid; Types and Levels of Maqasid; Misconceptions regarding Maqasid; Misuse of Maqasid; Masalih and Ijtihad; The Greatest Maqsad.
The course will be delivered by Shaikh Haitham Al-Haddad, Ustadh Fraz Farhat, Ustadh Abu Rumaysah, and others.
The price for this retreat is £140. This includes an interactive study course plus case studies; comprehensive notes that outline course material; workshops, team building exercises and Q & A sessions; spiritual development activities; accommodation; meals and refreshments.
