In the name of God, compassionate & merciful بِسْمِ اللهِ الرَّحْمنِ الرَّحِيمِ | Peace be with you السلام عليكم
Assalamu alaikum wa rahmatullahi wa barakhatuhu!
How are you? Hope you are well and in the best of health and imaan as always
. How’s your week been then? Hope everything has been well.

Wow, it’s been a while since my last Muslimness article. Apologies!
Anyways as we are already into the Islamic New Year 1431 and with 2010 blooming in coldness, I’d like to take this opportunity in wishing you a prosperous year in terms of deen, health and opportunities, ameen.
I’m just going to share a simple summary with you this time due to my radio show changes and shift in workload:
For the past four shows or so we have talked through some of the major signs Muslims believe will show before the Final Day of Judgement. These being the Mahdi, the Dajjal (anti-christ), Prophet Jesus, Gog and Magog and the beast.
Currently we have discussed the Mahdi and the Dajjal. Although we haven’t discussed them in great depth, this will be done in future shows Insha’Allah for our listeners.
Some points on the Mahdi and the Dajjal
The Mahdi
A prophetic saying mentioned by Imam Ahmad says that the world will be filled with justice once again by the Mahdi, as a strong contract to how it is dominated now with oppression and injustices.
The Mahdi will resemble the behaviour of the Prophet
Mahdi will be from Quraysh according to a hadith reported by Abu Dawud
He will be among the descendants of the prophet, his name and fathers name will be the same as prophet Muhammad’s.
He will rule for seven years
The Dajjal
The Prophet (saw) warned us the most about the dajjal from all the prophets. Other prophets have gone into such depth about him.
‘The Dajjal is one-eyed but your lord is not one-eyed’ (Bukhari and Muslim). This means
he will have two eyes but his right will be blind and he will profess divinity which many people will believe in.
The Dajjal will not be able to enter Madinah and Makkah as two angels will be at every gate of those cities. They are the only places on earth that the Dajjal will not be able to enter.
He will emerge in a land in the east called Khurasaan (a huge region situated predominantly in Afghanistan, also in Iran, Tajikstan and Uzbekistan).
He will rule for forty days; convincing people that he is god, with powers that enable him to produce crops, bring animals and people back to life with the help of the Devil.
There are three ways to seek protection against the Dajjal and you should learn these now: 1) seek refuge in Allah from this tribulation, 2) read certain ayah from the Quran (Surah Kahf for example) and 3) if you're alive at that time, stay away from Dajjal, run away, keep away.
(Source mainly being from the works of Ibn Kathir).
That was just a brief summary of what we’ve been discussing for the past few shows on Rochdale Crescent Radio. I also have another segment called ‘Dealing with worries and stress’ which will be finishing soon Insha’Allah. Do listen in and I hope you did gain benefit from this.
So what is there to look forward to in my future shows? Well the return of the Al-Akhira lectures from Anwar al Awlaki, a few new segments such as ‘Don’t be sad’ and ‘purification of the heart' and not to forget a Muslimness segment.
There's a lot to look forward to in 2010/1431 on the Light Upon Light show Insha’Allah, which is is on every Saturdays from 3-6. I also do Wednesday’s Drive from 3-6 where I have the police in the studio (drop in your questions to them!) and Friday’s Youth Show with Rahat and Nafisa with guests.
Take care, may Allah keep you on the straight path, bless you and keep you in the best of health and imaan as always
.

Wa alaikum us salam.
