"As salaam alaikum (peace be with you), I saw Maryam today [last week]. She is overwhelmed about the around the globe support. She says thank you over many times and sends her love. There is so much to say [...] Allahu Akbar (Allah is the Greatest).
Brother. Fahd of New Orleans has been invaluable. His support helped to make this trip to LCIW possible. He has taken care of me very well and graciously. When I last visited Maryam in 2006, they brought her out to me in full shackles from her legs irons, waist and hands. This time they did not. She looks well, but I could not get any information from her about her health. She just would not comment on it and it seemed difficult for her to do. I get the feeling that we just need to get her out of there as soon as possible.
She is unable to write letters as much as before. So when you have not heard from her, it is because of her hand and arm. Maryam is not afraid of retaliation anymore. She says they have done it all to her. However, I'm still going to consult with a few of my friends as to what to put on facebook about some other issues this facility is putting her through. I can tell you that the bulk of Maryam's troubles are because she is a Muslim.
She is strong in her deen and a dynamic, sweet and quite sister. She is also a warrior for Islam that should go down in history. Maryam's pressing need is money. She basically has no clothes and she needs everything. I ask you all to read between the lines with this one. She is allowed to order clothes from JC Penney out of her account. No one can directly send her packages anymore.
Her spirits are high and she is fighting not only for herself and Islam, but for the other women at LCIW. There is a huge interest in Islam from the other women at the facility, but they are usually intimidated from converting or attending Friday services. An Imam used to come out once a month. I'm not sure where that stands now. Brother Fahd, in New Orleans, is on board with helping our sister Maryam. He will be seeing her soon and keeping close contact.
[...] Maryam would not let go of my hands the entire time I was there. I came down to help Maryam, and I walked away helped by her. I have never met anyone like Maryam. If you noticed that the last time she had a visitor was 2006. My income (Motisola's) is not below the poverty line, it is way under the poverty line or not on any line at all. I also have no other means of support in my household. I booked a cheap ticket and came down to visit Maryam.
For those of you who wish to visit Maryam, you must ask her to send you a form so that you can fill that out and go through a back ground check. That can take up to 6 weeks to come back. Also, you are not allowed to taken anything in with you except your ID and money. While you are there, you can order dinners ($8 a piece) so that you may have dinner with her. There are also vending machines in the visiting room to purchase candy and snacks for her. If you have any questions about visiting and where to stay when you get to New Orleans, contact me and I'll help make arrangements [link]. A local Masjid here, I learned today, has space for visitors, and I'm staying at a place that is $10 a day for room, meals and showers. I'll have to write more later, because I need to rest. Again, Maryam sends her love and appreciation.

Purchase a U.S. Postal Money Order. Make it out to Mary Uloho # 454634, P.O. Box 26, St. Gabriel, LA 70776. Keep your top part of the money order copy for yourself and mail it in an envelop to her at the same address. ... You may post information and the email from me on Facebook to whom ever you wish (LINK BELOW). I rethought about providing the reason on Facebook as to why she needs clothes because I want people to know. From what Maryam told me, a staff member at the jail threw out about 90% of her clothes. Maryam had to borrow or found a shirt to put on to come out to see me.
Thank you so much for your support of our sister Maryam Uloho.
