After 7 weeks of school life I am finally on my one week half term break (sigh of relief). During those 7 weeks I have been studying and focusing most of my time and attention towards my school life. My obvious aims are to get good grades and Insha’Allah make my family proud (so pray I get good results Insha’Allah, please). :-)
During those 7 weeks of school I tried my best and focused on my studies. Now that I’m on my one week break I have more time to revise and study even harder. I don’t want to just work to get good grades, I want to work hard to get the best grades. All I can do is try my very hardest, put all the effort I can into my studies, then pray and let Allah SWA do the rest. (Oh, and just because I’m spending a lot of time studying does not mean I’m not completing my obligatory duties as a Muslim. I prioritise my life and make it one that is balanced).
I was reading a Guardian article the other day about race discrimination and how employers were prejudiced when deciding who they should hire.
I quote, “A government sting operation targeting hundreds of employers across Britain has uncovered widespread racial discrimination against workers with African and Asian names.’’
Why not read it yourself?

For most of us getting a job in the future we will have to face many barriers and disadvantages. We need to prepare for the future today, we live with our parents and therefore we have no responsibilities or burdens on our shoulders and we don’t realise the difficulties of real life (e.g. paying the bills). One of the advantages to help us get a job would be a good education, preferably with good grades. As they say train hard, fight easy or in our case study hard, pass easy.
Let’s look at what is important in our lives and what is our priority. The lack of time we give to our studies will mean the more time we will spend studying in the future because of the retakes we will have to do.
Pray for me Insha’Allah and All the best everyone! :-)
