In the name of God, compassionate & merciful بِسْمِ اللهِ الرَّحْمنِ الرَّحِيمِ | Peace be with you السلام عليكم

I mentioned Islamic Nature on passing in an earlier post and then realised that they were a valuable Link that we all need to know about.
BEHOLD! Our online Islamic Nature...
What: Islamic Nature [link], our most recent favourite online source for reading Quran easily, memorising short prophetic sayings, the Prophet Muhammad's biography, embedding Quran widgets (gadgets) onto our blog [check top-right sidebar] and bookmarking tool.
Who: Islamic Nature is ran by Umar Sheikh, a highly skilled professional and graphic designer, masha'Allah.
Aim: This site was created so IslamicNature team, could hone their computer "skills and talents for good use so that the Muslim ummah can benefit from us and learn about Islam, the Quran and the Prophet SAW. Our main aim is to provide islamic web services to the Muslim Ummah which they would want to use and benefit from in one way or another." It's contemporary Islamic learning without all the extra fuss.
"And there is the type of man who gives his life to earn the pleasure of Allah: And Allah is full of kindness to (His) devotees." Quran, [2:207]
Resources: Islamic Nature has the full Quran available online including a tafsir (interpretation) for listening, bookmarking and reading in multi languages.
- They provide viewers with the seerah -biography- of Prophet Muhammad, a global prayer timetable (with very cool visual map).

What: The Tanzil Project is a Quranic project launched in early 2007 to produce a highly verified precise Quran text to be used in Quranic websites and applications.
Aim: Tanzil's mission is to "produce a standard Quran text and serve as a reliable source" for this standard text on the web. The Tanzil Project was launched to standardise a highly verified error-free Quran text for interface applications to prevent further spreading of the erroneous texts. Sites such as Quran Source and Social Religion use this Arabic.
Review: What Tanzil nobly aims to do is fix the punctuation errors, the diacritic marks existing in some printed Qurans, by placing all the correct marks where needed. I have a Quran with Uthmani script which means all the punctuation isn't there; this is not a grave mistake, it's a style of script and was very common when the Quran was first reproduced. I have learnt this style of reading and now recognise after studying where all the vowel sounds are supposed to be. Tanzil provides support on this for Quran readers primarily, as well as contributing to the online Quran reading sources.
Resources: Tanzil has a comprehensive sidebar with features for navigating, searching specific terms, reciting and reading.
» A search bar provides quick root word searches in the Quran. This search function is currently available only in Arabic.
» The browse tool enables navigation between chapters (suwar), verses (ayah) and volumes ('juz) as well as flipping pages just like the real book.
» A recitation feature provides no less than 16 well known reciters (Qari); in addition Ibrahim Walk reads the entire Quran in English.
» Most spectacular are the options in choosing the 'type' of script: a standard clearer Arabic, the liquid flowing Uthmani script, with/without full diacritic marks and so on. Changing font/type options are also available.
» Presented here is the English translation; clicking the 'Quran' tab converts the text to Arabic.

» Hovering over the Arabic script with the cursor shows the translation of every single verse in English.
Our Rating: One point deducted only for the no-English search box and use of age-old English for the translation. For contemporary English speakers, we need a Quran that is translated in our eloquent style of speaking, a small upgrade if you will.
The Tanzil Project is most excellent,
9/10.
