In the name of God, compassionate & merciful بِسْمِ اللهِ الرَّحْمنِ الرَّحِيمِ | Peace be with you السلام عليكم
Assalamu alaikum wa rahmatullahi wa barakhatuh!
I pray you’re in the best of health and imaan as always.
Recently one of the topics on my radio show at Crescent Radio [link] was on racism. So many people apparently are still victims of this dark prejudice and many others openly practice it.
It’s shocking to know how much racism still occurs today -TODAY- and how much hate there is in regards to race, caste, sects, genders and culture etc.
I just thought I’d share with you a verse from the Qur’an and some Ahadith (prophetic sayings) about equality and intentions that were mentioned during my show:
'O mankind! We have created you from a single male and female and made you into nations and tribes so that you may know each other. The most honorable of you in the sight of Allah are surety the righteous." Quran (Al-Hujurat: 13)
Here Allah tells people He has purposefully made us with different skin tones, languages and cultures: So we can see the beautiful uniqueness and thank Allah for being the greatest designer. After that Allah states what HE uses to measure how GREAT we are: Not our languages, races or nationalities, but our 'righteousness'. I know we don't all use that word; of 'righteousness' means to be "Morally upright; without guilt or sin" so your actions are justifiable. [link]
The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) declared:
"O people! You are all to Adam and Adam was made of dust. No Arab is to be preferred over a non-Arab except by virtue of his piety."
In another hadith, he (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Allah does not look at your images or your colors but He looks at your hearts (intentions) and your deeds. Creatures are the dependants of Allah and the closest among them to Allah are indeed the most useful to His dependants." (mentioned in his farewell/hajj sermon).
My message to Muslimness readers is to forget our differences, we were made to be different. Let’s concentrate on our similarities instead.
Allah bless you , remember the Muslimness motto of respect [link] and keep me, Crescent Radio team from Rochdale UK [link], and my family in your duas. Take care.
Wa alaikum us salam wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuh.
