Sex Sells. So it's OK?

This all started with a little bit of "pa-pa-pokerface... erm Lady Gaga".
Sex is what sells in these American States not the talent. This is more of a fact then an opinion to me, though many beg to differ.
I would like to ask you to sit back and ask yourselves would your favorite artist and entertainers be who they are without the 'sex factor'. For example would Britney Spears be Britney Spears if she didn't wear that little revealing school uniform in "Hit Me Baby One More Time"? With all due respect I LOVE BRITNEY, but if she rocked an abaya in her next music video would ALL her fans stick by her side? I think not as much. Britney isn't really known for being a vocalist but an entertainer. Therefore if she trashed her clothes and her provocative dance moves, who would she be? Nothing more.
Some people, I could name a few, believe that because somebody, like Britney, is a celebrity it's OK for that dress, those actions, that style. It's "OK" to wear revealing clothes and dance like that, to do crazy stuff and drink all day. It's OK because they are an "exception" to the Muslim lifestyle.
Last time I checked Allah (swt) is not going to let your sins pass based on your social status. You wash your bad deeds by asking for forgiveness and replacing them with good deeds not by doing more bad deeds, especially now in Ramadan. When you give the celebrities an "OK" you just gave all their fans an OK.
Well, maybe it's worse in the "Land of the Free" but it's going on everywhere. So I leave you with this: take a look at your favorite artists and take only the good, leave out the bad completely. Keep your Muslimness with you and on your iPod no matter where you are! :D
