London's National Ramadhan Conference Fundraises For Somalia

The University College London invites British Muslims to gain a spiritual cleanse during Ramadhan at the National Ramadhan Conference 2011, "The Heart of a Believer".

Ramadhan is the opportune month of purifications - Muslims use this time to control habits and indulgent behaviour. This charitable event will focus on methods to purify hearts and how to get through fasting without distractions.

UCL's National Ramadhan Conference is also fundraising, uniting the Muslim concept of sadaqah (charity) with celebration. An evening Iftar meal when Muslims break their fast will be followed by a fundraiser and all funds will go towards work in the Horn of Africa (Northeast Africa: Djibouti, Ethiopia and Somalia) by Families Relief.

Iconic Muslim speakers shaykh Navaid Aziz, mufti Abdur Rahman Ibn Yusuf and mufti Muhammad Ibn Adam will take centre stage, along with nasheed artist Masum from Labbayk and many more to be confirmed.

Date: 13th August | Time: 3-9pm
Venue: University College London, Gower St, Cruciform Building, Cruciform (LT1)
Tickets: Students - £10 (Student ID will be required at entrance) | Adults - £15

Tickets for the National Ramadhan Conference 2011 - The Heart of a Believer are now available via the university website www.uclisoc.com.
