Many of The M Team here at Muslimness.com have successful writing careers alhamdulillah, and are studying towards pursuing creative writing ambitions. Once upon a few decades ago, intending to write for a career was mocked within the Muslim community in the UK. It didn't pay regularly, the competition was fierce from other organisations and families wanted their children to aspire to status, not greatness.
When The Muslim Writers Awards first launched I honestly didn't see the reason or long term effect of it, until someone I knew submitted their work, was nominated and awarded with humble praise and publicity. It becomes a qualification of social media that award does, and people recognise the effort and skill into writing something exhilarating by wanting more.

The Muslim Writers Awards is accepting submissions again for 2010. Following the MWA Submission Guidelines under the given categories, feel confident enough to submit your written work. We at Muslimness encourage you to take chances and keep promoting the good ideas of unity, celebration and reward in Islam.
Are there enough people submitting their work to Muslim organisations and being appreciated for their talent? Or is this just another vain-celebrity-filled platform?
